Translations

Clients often request the preparation of basic translation text data without formatting or editing. This is needed when further processing and formatting is to be performed by the client himself. Also, some texts simply need to be understood in general terms. In these cases, further processing of the material, primarily editing, simply becomes is not unnecessary.

Editing

This is recommended in the case of a quality-critical translation (e.g., one to be read in court). Editing may be of a technical or stylistic character. As a rule, any document will benefit from the fact that it has been checked by someone other than the original translator. This is a service we perform.

Proofreading

It is useful to reread material after correction. Additional document checks never go amiss. Spell checkers and other automatic methods of quality control are still no substitute for a human being. It is well known (virtually from prehistorical times), that the "typo" can have a very insidious nature.

Copywriting/Russification

Complete literary re-working of a translated text in order that it "does not appear to be a translation", but looks as if it is in its original Russian format. This would incorporate an accurate rendering of the sense of the original, yet would be set forth in literary Russian fully taking into account crosscultural differences. This is essential, for example, in advertising copy where it is important to convey the author's original concepts. Turns of phrase, which are perfectly comprehensible in the original, may not be interpreted as the author intended by a Russian reader. Advertising copy has certain idiosyncrasies, which appear strange and often completely lose all meaning when literally translated into Russian. It is necessary to rework this type of material until it appears completely natural to the Russian reader. We can suitably adapt absolutely any advertising copy.
